Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the region, generating wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.

Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
