It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.
